Popeye Magazine: Magazine for City Boys
Starting in 1976 as a male version of "An An" a women's lifestyle magazine, Popeye is one of the oldest standing magazines in Japan that feature articles on men's fashion and lifestyle items. As the tagline states, the magazine targets young urban men, discussing broader cultural trends such as fine art, film, food, travel, and more in their issues.
Directed by Editor in Chief Takahiro Kinoshita, Popeye magazine has a very distinct visual editorial style that takes bold explorations of typography and layout design.
